The Hive’s Mission: โ€œCreating opportunities with and for young people in Kildareโ€

The Hive’s Aim is “to create a dynamic, healthy, safe, and fun environment where all young people in Kildare can meet, relax, and access a wide range of activities and supports.”

The Hive Kildare Town Youth Hub is a place for young people to come, chill out, and participate in youth work activities and groups. It is there for young people aged 10-24 years of age from the Kildare Town and surrounding area. The Hive as it is known locally, is unique in there are youth work programmes run there by a variety of agencies including the Hive and all offer something different.

The types of programmes and activities that have taken place over the past year are music and youth music gigs, youth cafes, youth employment programme, youth ability programme, personal development and transition to secondary school group, young menโ€™s mental health and wellbeing, Social Saturdays group, summer camps, art & crafts, and midterm break activities throughout the year.

The Hive has an independent Board of Management, which is made up of a variety of agencies from County Kildare and local people. The Hive is a registered charity with the Charity Regulator (RCN: 20082932), the Revenue Commissioner (CHY: 20822) and a registered company with the Company Registration Office (CRO: 526243).
